The Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol, one of the most interesting tourist destinations in the world, both for its natural beauty and for its infrastructure, covers the whole of the Málaga coast. From Nerja to Manilva, this part of the Mediterranean coast harmonises the beauty of its beaches with the 0ruggedness of its mountains, which protect the coast and create a truly exceptional climate with 325 days of sun every year and the sea has an average temperature of 18°C, allowing the visitor to enjoy sun and beaches throughout the whole year.

From the large tourist areas to the small bays, the whole coast has transparent waters, beaches with blue flags, modern installations and services, excellent facilities for culture and leisure activities, offering top quality and prices for all pockets. Behind the coast, like protective watchtowers which overlook the Mediterranean, are the Sierra Bermeja, Serrania de Ronda, Sierra de Las Nieves, Sierra Blanca, Sierra Alpujarra, Sierra de Mijas, Montes de Málaga, Sierra de Tejada and Sierra Almijara mountains, all being important tourist attractions also in which rural tourism can be carried out, either trekking or simply participating in the simple and peaceful lives of the Andalusian towns and enjoying the sight of the local arquitecture.

The Tropical coast or coast of Granada meets the Costa del Sol to the East and the Costa de la Luz in Cádiz to the West, being the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Through the different routes such as tho0se of the Axarquia, the White Villages, the Pasa Route, the Sun and Wine Route and the visits to outstanding  places such as those found in the Ronda Mountains and other characteristic places such Antequera or the Mijas Mountains, tourists that prefer inland tourism can also find an authentic paradise to retrace the steps of the ancient cultures, which were clearly influenced by the Phoenicians, the Greeks and the Carthaginians, on the Costa del Sol.

Due to its important infrastructure for tourists, the diversity of its attractions and the mildness of its climate, the Costa del Sol is the most appropriate place to find what you are looking for and at the same time will prove that the reality overcomes all expectations.

BEACHES

The most all–round tourist destination in Europe, the Costa del Sol, has 24 magnificently well-kept beaches and is blessed with a climate that allows one to bath in the sea almost all year round. The average temperature of the water is 18°C ( 20.9°C in July and 24.2°C in August). SCENERY

The Costa del Sol is not just a never-ending succession of beaches, for nature has endowed this area with beautiful scenery inland that never fails to impress. There are mountains – the Montes de Málaga, the Serranía de Ronda range, the Sierra Blanca, the Sierra Bermeja and the Sierra de las Nieves – and richly forested nature parks all along the coast.

0The mountains serve as wonderful lookout points from which one can gaze out over the blue Mediterranean. The also protect the shore from storms, and their slopes are covered with the widest diversity imaginable of native Andalusian flora. Here you can get back in touch with nature, enjoy the healthy outdoors, experience the hospitality of the White Villages and simply lean back and enjoy the spectacular scenery. All these things have given rise to alternative kinds of tourism, the so-called rural tourism with enjoyable rambles in the country where the air is clean, fresh and invigorating.
